I know it has been more difficult than usual getting a hold of me lately.
Many of you already know that on April 15Th, my grandmother passed away. She was 89 years old and still sharp as a tack. She was a very wise and strong woman who lived through many eras and saw many things many of us have just heard about. I remember her telling me about going to the theatre to see the "Wizard of Oz" when it came out in the 30's and when it went from black and white to color you could hear the whole theatre gasp.
She was still the one I went to for advice and she had plenty of it and was usually always right. She was more than a grandmother to me, she was one of my BEST FRIENDS. I am SO blessed to have had her in my life. She was a very classy, old fashioned lady who believed God is the only One who can carry us through, when we can't carry ourselves.
Grandma loved to go go go ....I definitely get this from her. She always said, "If you say "Let's", "I'll say "Go". I have received so much wisdom and love from her over the years and could NEVER thank her enough. I could go on and on.
I know this is such a cliche, but she WILL live forever with me and my sister.
It has been difficult "getting on with life" and I appreciate all of you that have been patient and have sent your condolences. I'm slowing but surely getting caught up.
In the first photo I believe grandma was about 15 years old and the others were taken last September by Joe Craig. He did an AWESOME job of capturing us. I just LOVED the photos and am so grateful I had them taken. My grandma is such a beautiful woman inside and out and will be missed by so many!
